World CleanUp Day

World cleanup day 2024

World Cleanup Day is the largest global citizens' movement with the aim of working towards a clean, waste-free world and raising global awareness of the sustainable use of resources. Last year, almost 19 million people in 191 countries took part in the campaign. In Germany, around 430,000 people were motivated to collect rubbish in more than 9,100 cleanups. We will also be back in 2024 with the ‘TÜV NORD cleans up’ campaign. It starts on 22 September.

TÜV NORD is supporting the organiser of the German World Cleanup Day, Let's do it Germany e.V., with a donation of 1,000 euros so that the next generation can also be made aware of the issue of environmental pollution. This will go towards the educational project ‘World Cleanup goes to school’.

Would you also like to do your bit and collect rubbish? Here's how:

  1. Think about when and where you would like to collect

  2. Get in touch with the local waste disposal company - some service providers provide free bin bags or collect the collected rubbish free of charge

  3. Mobilise friends, colleagues or neighbours

  4. Grab a rubbish grabber or gloves - for reasons of sustainability, it is advisable to bring reusable garden or household gloves.
  5. Bring larger, strong bin bags and a cleaning bucket to collect the rubbish in.

  6. Get started. Fill the buckets and use them to fill the bin liners.

  7. Dispose of the rubbish, be happy, done.
