TÜV NORD has again certified Volkswagen to DIN EN ISO 9001 for successful application of quality management throughout its entire organization.
Guido Rettig, Chairman of the Board of Management of TÜV NORD GROUP, presented the certificate in Wolfsburg to Martin Winterkorn, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board at Volkswagen AG. Rettig: “Volkswagen has based its processes on ISO 9001 - the most important International Standard of all - for 20 years now, emphasising the intense quality focus of its operations.”
TÜV NORD performed a comprehensive programme of audits at Volkswagen in February and March. Winterkorn: “We are proud to hold the ISO 9001 Certificate 2015 in our hands – again it testifies to the outstanding work of everyone at VW.”
The quality management system also fulfils the requirements of German and international road traffic legislation, leading to issue of a new certificate for this area. In addition, TÜV NORD has certified the environmental management system at Volkswagen to ISO 14001 and EMAS, verified the life cycle assessment of various vehicle models to ISO 14040 and undertaken testing of functional safety.
