Hamburg: On 1 January 2019, Mike Wöbbeking was appointed Executive Vice President of the Renewables segment in the Industrial Services business unit of TÜV NORD. He succeeds Michael Dahm, who has left the company.
In addition to his position as head of Renewables globally, Mike Wöbbeking has also been appointed General Manager at TÜV NORD EnSys, where he joins Astrid Petersen and Jörg Aign on the board of management
Mike Wöbbeking can look back on 18 years of international experience in the renewable energies field. Most recently, he was director of renewables certification and head of the global certification body at DNV GL. Prior to this, the graduate in civil engineering was responsible for business development and the mechanical, safety and electrical engineering areas in the wind energy division of Germanischer Lloyd. He started out on his career path in 2001 as an expert in wind turbines
“Thanks to his extensive international project work and project responsibility, Mike Wöbbeking can call on detailed professional expertise and an excellent worldwide network. I’m delighted to be working with him as we continue to expand our business. His priorities are going to include type certification under DAkkS accreditation for wind turbines in China, which we’re implementing in collaboration with local and international experts. In Germany, the compilation of reports concerning the extended operation of older wind turbines will remain a central plank of his work,” says Silvio Konrad, the member of the board of the Industrial Services business unit with responsibility for the energy sector
