On December 1, 2024, Ringo Schmelzer (48) took up his position as Chief Operative Officer (COO) on the Board of Management of TÜV NORD AG. The graduate aerospace engineer joined the TÜV NORD GROUP in 2023 from Lufthansa Technik and was Managing Director of TÜV NORD Systems and COO of the Industry Business Unit. The Supervisory Board of TÜV NORD AG appointed Ringo Schmelzer on September 18, 2024.
In the newly created COO board department, Ringo Schmelzer will be responsible for the expansion of international business and the further development of digitalization and IT processes, among other things. When he joins the Executive Board, he will also become a member of the Group Management Board.

In addition to internationalization, digitalization and portfolio management, Ringo Schmelzer's areas of responsibility will also include internal IT, innovation and sustainability/integrated management systems.
