TÜV NORD CERT and VDE Institute to collaborate in the field of medical devices

Now it's official: TÜV NORD CERT and the VDE Institute are now cooperating in the field of medical devices. With a comprehensive range, the two testing and certification providers will in the future be offering numerous additional services from a single source, thereby covering the requirements of the manufacturers and distributors of medical devices. In this way, certified quality assurance systems will be certified and products tested.

“Getting approval for medical devices is challenging and subject to increasingly stringent requirements. In particular with regard to the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) that will soon be coming into force, the extended resources will pave the way for faster approvals and long-term reliability,” says Wolfgang Wielpütz, General Manager of TÜV NORD CERT. Wolfgang Niedziella, Managing Director of the VDE Institute, also sees many advantages: “With this collaboration we can combine the high quality of testing offered by the VDE Institute with the certification expertise of TÜV NORD to bring about the highest possible benefit for our customers.”

The certification company of the TÜV NORD GROUP and the VDE testing and certification institute have been pursuing common goals for many years in the arena of product safety. Both partners are active on standardisation committees and in working groups at both national and international levels.
