TÜV NORD has opened a new, significantly expanded photovoltaic laboratory (PV Lab) in Suzhou in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, about 100 kilometres west of Shanghai. The expansion at the new location became possible after TÜV NORD successfully acquired the shares of the previous joint venture partner and is now the sole owner of the laboratory. "This is an important strategic step, as it allows us to further expand our services for the photovoltaic industry in the most important country of manufacture and to provide extensive testing capacities for our customers," emphasises Alexander Ohff, Executive Vice President Renewables at TÜV NORD. "This also strengthens our global PV business, which we are currently also pushing forward in Middle East, South America and Europe; alongside our activities in several Asian countries."
Key services offered by the expanded laboratory include qualification testing and certification for PV modules and components, for example tests on mechanical load or salt mist corrosion, as well as low voltage testing for PCS. Managing Director Angella Xu continues her successful work and further expands the testing portfolio with her team of experts.
