Last Sunday innovative and environmentally-friendly projects were awarded Europe’s largest environment and industry award, the “GreenTec Awards” in Munich. This is the seventh year of the awards, and for the first time TÜV NORD has audited the entire selection and evaluation process for the projects submitted, granting the “Certified process of competition” seal of quality.
The multi-stage selection process also included online participation by the general public. The winners were chosen at the final sitting of the jury from three finalists in each category. TÜV NORD had previously performed an audit to check whether the organisers of the “GreenTec Awards” had adhered to the rules of its selection and evaluation process and also to establish if the process was fair, transparent and clear.
In this year’s GreenTec Awards, established companies, start-ups and individuals submitted more than 200 projects in total, divided into 14 categories. The prizes were awarded at the opening event of the IFAT Fair, the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management on Sunday, 4 May 2014 in the International Congress Center in Munich. TÜV NORD has been a partner of the event since 2013.
