TÜV NORD receives platinum EcoVadis medal

The TÜV NORD GROUP has been awarded the EcoVadis platinum medal. This puts the Group in the top 1 percent of companies rated in the last twelve months. EcoVadis is the world's leading provider of sustainability ratings for companies.
Based on international sustainability standards, 21 criteria are evaluated in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. “Responsibility and sustainability are fundamental components of the TÜV NORD GROUP's business policy. Being among the best in the world across all sectors shows that we are on the right track with our sustainability measures and that our employees are constantly looking for new solutions across the various areas,” says Ronja Schmidt, Corporate Responsibility Manager at TÜV NORD AG. The platinum medal is already the fifth medal that TÜV NORD has received from EcoVadis. TÜV NORD started with a silver medal, followed by three gold EcoVadis medals.
TÜV NORD performed particularly well in the ethics category (score: 90/100). Here, the company scored particularly well for its consistent implementation of the Supply Chain Duty of Care Act and the associated requirement for non-discriminatory and humane working conditions. TÜV NORD was also able to achieve further improvements in the areas of environment, labor and human rights and maintain its very good results. “The assessment by EcoVadis is an important indicator for us to get our performance reflected and to compare ourselves with industry standards and the competition. EcoVadis has also proven its worth in global supply chains, as it is a standardized and recognized method for evaluating and comparing sustainability,” says Ronja Schmidt. This helps to provide new impetus for the further development of sustainability management, generates advantages when awarding contracts and promotes cooperation with responsible partners.
The TÜV NORD GROUP was able to increase its overall rating from 74 to 82 points, outperforming 99 percent of the companies assessed in the past twelve months. In total, EcoVadis evaluates around 130,000 companies from 180 countries.
